FUTBOLITO, FUTBOL RAPIDO, CASCARITA = FORO 5V5

Un nuevo complejo deportivo se esta gestando, gracias a Jeff Harral, a company developing a sports & entertainment facility concept called “FORO” which centers around small-sided soccer (sometimes called futbolito, futbolito rapido, cascarita, etc.) which we will be building across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. See the attachment to see an image of what FORO will look like.

FORO facilities will include weekly soccer leagues for all ages, as well as beach soccer or volleyball. FORO will also have a clubhouse that will be a family-friendly sports bar/restaurant type of atmosphere included within the project offering food & beverages. The restaurant will be an authentic Mexican taqueria offering tacos, gorditas, etc. The clubhouse will also include meeting room spaces for birthday and other parties, business meetings, banquets, etc.
FORO will also include a special events center/stadium with capacity for up to approximately 4,000 people (depending on the site) for events like concerts, boxing matches, exhibition games or shows, watching parties for sports events, and others.

Latinos and other cultural communities in Dallas-Fort Worth (and across the USA) are extremely underserved in many different ways, and our intention is to provide a place that is designed to cater to the needs and wants of the multicultural communities in DFW, with a specific target on the Latino community. For example, many Latino soccer leagues in DFW are given the worst conditioned fields to play their leagues/games on and are treated unfairly at places they like to hang out or have their events and parties. Our goal is to provide a safe and quality space that benefits the Latino community in as many ways as possible, and we need your help in realizing this vision. We are currently in the process of putting together funding/financing to build the first FORO facility, and your help in showing your support, commitment, and desire for a facility like this will be key when we present to potential investors, city governments, etc.

Here’s some ways you can help:

· If you are involved with a community organization or program, providing us with a letter of interest/commitment from the organization stating that you would (potentially) choose to have one of your event(s) at FORO once it is built. A simple statement of support from community organizations can go a very long way in proving our community needs a place like FORO [THIS IS NOT LEGALLY BINDING & YOU WILL NOT BE OBLIGATED TO HAVE AN EVENT AT FORO. WE SIMPLY JUST NEED TO PROVE THE DEMAND FROM THE COMMUNITY]

· Filling out the attached survey OR providing us an indication that you and/or your family or organization would like to play in the FORO soccer leagues.
· Putting us in contact with community leaders and/or potential investors that you may know.
These are just a few ideas of how you can help, but we would love to hear from you if you have more ideas you may have on ways to help!

Please feel free to contact me at JHARRAL@LRSREALESTA TE.COM with any responses or questions, or if you would like to set up a call or meeting to learn more about FORO.

NEWSPAPER CRISIS - MADE 2008

Manny Mendoza, a former News entertainment critic and one of the filmmakers behind the documentary Stop the Presses: The American Newspaper in Peril. He and his co-creator, Dallas-based documentarian Mark Birnbaum, finished the film in early 2008, just before its premiere at the AFI Dallas International Film Festival in April, a teacher say "I teach a class in mass media to young college students. It is unsettling to see from informal polls that only about 5 percent of my students ever choose to look at a newspaper -- ever. This seems to hold true up to about age 35."...MORE
